Railway Between Stara Pazova and Novi Sad Connected

The Russian company RZD International has connected the railway track in the Cortanovci zone on the Stara Pazova-Novi Sad section of the Belgrade-Budapest railway. The official ceremony marking the finalization of the works took place on the Cortanovci viaduct in the navigable section of the Danube.

The company reminds that, in April 2021, half a year before the agreed deadlines expired, they completed the construction of the two biggest structures in Serbia, a 3-km viaduct and the Cortanovci tunnel.

– The execution of the works on the construction and modernization of the 40.4-km Stara Pazova-Novi Sad railway, where the company has been executing works since 2017, is in the final phase – says the company’s press release.

So far, it is pointed out, the construction works on all artificial structures have been completed, the installation of the noise-protection panels is being brought to a close, 85% of the total upper section of the tracks has been laid down. All the works should be completed at the end of 2021.

– During the construction, we used advanced Russian and international technologies, which enabled not just the highest quality of the works to be achieved, but also the deadlines, defined by the agreement, to be honored – said Sergey Stolyarov. Director General of RZD International.

The total value of the construction of the Belgrade-Budapest railway through Serbia is around USD 2 billion, and the railway through the country will be around 184 kilometers long.
