Construction of Highway from Bijeljina to Raca to Begin in June – Connection with Belgrade by 2026

The minister of transport and communications of Republika Srpska, Nedeljko Coric, said that the construction of the highway from Raca to Bijeljina would start by the beginning of June, when the first works and the possession of the site are planned.

Coric said that, at a meeting with representatives of the city authorities in Bijeljina, it was agreed for all access roads meant to be used for the construction of the highway to be developed in line with the needs of the residents, and that the City Administration would not have to set aside funds for those locations.

He says that, at the meeting, he told the representatives of the City Administration that, by the end of the year, agreements on the construction of the highway from Banjaluka to Bijeljina, for the sections from Johovac to Vukosavlje, from Vukosavlje to Brcko and from Bijeljina to Raca would be signed.

– A section remains in Republika Srpska, which is Bijeljina-Brcko, and that tender will be published this year. Next year, we will have a selected contractor there as well – Djoric said and added that the plan was for Banjaluka, Bijeljina and Belgrade to be connected by highway by 2026.
