Public Procurement Procedure for Construction of Rail Bridge on River Tamis to Be Opened by End-Year – Trains to Run at 100 km/h

The completion of the project-technical documentation for the construction of the new rail bridge on the Tamis – the Tomasevac Bridge, between Orlovat and Tomasevac, is expected soon, so in line with that, the company Serbian Railways Infrastructure plans to open the public procurement procedure for the works on the construction of the bridge by the end of this year.

At the same time, as per the order of the minister of construction, Goran Vesic, the PE Roads of Serbia is completing the designing of the new road bridge and beginning the construction of a ring road around Orlovat.

– That means that, as the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic, announced in the media recently, in the coming period, there will be two bridges on the Tamis near Orlovat, a rail bridge and a road bridge – it is said on the website of the company Serbian Railways Infrastructure.

In 2023, for the first time, the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure secured the funds for the bridge in Tomasevac in the amount of RSD 1.347 billion for the needs of the Serbian Railways Infrastructure and the realization of this project.

When the new bridge is built, trains will be able to run at 100 km/h on it.
