The investment group, Helvax AG from Switzerland is planning to buy Aviogenex and start airline traffic from Nis, Flyfromnis.com portal reports.

Belgrade-based Aviogenex used to be the second ranked national airline but sanctions left the consequences so the company, as many others in Serbia, failed.

Still, their fleet has only one Boing plane which the Swiss have one cargo plane B737 and five passenger planes A319.

As flyfromnis.com reports, Belgrade-based company is ready to relocate to Nis and the Swiss showed they are seriously interested to, apart from plane, invest substantial funds into the project.

For the portal, as they write, the information was also confirmed by the mayor of Nis, Zoran Perisic and at one of the previous meetings of the City council, the deputy mayor, Ljubivoje Slavkovic, spoke about the arrival of the Swiss at the Nis airport.

Let us remind that the idea that Aviogenex planes fly from Nis was presented to the city management by the assistant minister for air traffic, Milutin Popovic, in March 2013.

The thing which is obvious and which would,, according to previous announcements of the mayor of Nis should finalize by the end of the year, is the contract with a low cost company.

As it was confirmed for the Flightglobal portal at the Ministry of traffic, Hungarian WizzAir will fly from Nis.

What is the Swiss company’s core business?
