Three shifts are building the railway bridge at Cuprija
The railway bridge at the Velika Morava at Cuprija, which Gosa Fom from Smederevska Palanka and Mostogradnja from Belgrade are building, crossed the first river pillar and there are some 20 meters left to reach the second and crosses the river.
It is a steel bridge, 2400 tons heavy, 322,5 m long and dimensions of 52,5 m length on six pillars, two of which river ones, the main supervisor, Nikola Stefanovic, said for Tanjug.
The staff of Gosa and Mostogradnja work in three shifts, at nights and during the weekends so that they would finish it within deadline, Stefanovic said.
Austrian-Slovenian consortium, Alpina-Meteorit, started the bridge construction March 1, 2011 and it halted it for bankruptcy.
Gosa and Mostogradnja started works April 24 this year according to the agreement on construction which they signed with Zeleznice Srbije.
The works which will be done by these Serbian companies total EUR 2,5 m.
The bridge is built for a two-lane rail Gilje–Cuprija–Paracin, which should cross over the bridge and Italian comapny, Italiana costruzioni CAF, is buidling the rail. The rail reached the bridge.
The European Investment Bank funds the bridge construction.
