British ambassador visited Tobacco Industry Vranje

During his visit to the south of Serbia, the Ambassador of Great Britain to Belgrade, Stephen Wordsworth, paid a visit to "British American Tobacco" (BAT), that is, Tobacco Industry "Vranje" (DIV). It is the first visit of that English ambassador to the south of Serbia since year 2006, when he was appointed to that position in Belgrade.

Wordsworth toured the factory, got introduced to the operations of "DIV", which operates within "BAT" since 2003 and represents the largest investment of Great Briatain in Serbia.

General Manager of "DIV", Jergen Bakeberg, said that, during those three years of presence of "BAT" in Vranje, the production had been increased four times, market share by 50%, and about 100m EUR had been invested.

He added that BAT-DIV, as an active member of the community, continues intensive collaboration with the local community, so that it could actively help and stimulated development of the milieu in which it operates.
