Chinese Summit in Belgrade - Next week Serbia wll be epicenter of economic and political events in Europe
Next week, Serbia will be the epicenter of economic and political events in Europe, monitored by world centers of power. Almost 4000 officials, businessmen and media reps will gather on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in Belgrade at the Third summit of China and 16 CEE countries.
As Novosti found out, participation at the summit was confirmed by all prime ministers of all countries except from Croatia who is sending diplomacy head, Vesna Pusic. In Sava center and the Palace of Serbia where economic and political part of the summit will be held, governmental heads of China, Serbia, Hungary, Slovenia, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Romania, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Bulgaria and Albania who are mainly coming in the escort of numerous ministers and businessmen.
It is estimated the summit, where Belgrade is selected as a host after Bucharest and Budapest, will have huge importance for Serbian economy as well as for reaffirmation of political importance of our country.
The day after the summit, December 17, Li Keqiang, the prime minister of China will have official meetings with the governmental top, president Tomislav Nikolic and the Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic. A number of agreements between the two countries are expected to be signed. Vucic and the head of the Chinese government will open the Pupin’s bridge which connects Zemun and Borca and , Li Keqiang will be delivered Belgrade’s citizen of honor medallion .
Another bridge
The Chinese learnt all about the Danube during their construction of the Zemun-Borca bridge which will officially open December 18. But it seems the time to repeat what they learnt” came quickly so they will use the upcoming summit to offer another project, the bridge at Vinca at the Danube which is a part of a bypass around Belgrade.
Railroad
Of course, the central topic of the upcoming summit, when it comes to infrastructure projects, is modernization of the Belgrade-Budapest railroad. Prime ministers or resource ministers of Serbia, China and Hungary are expected to sign the document on feasibility study completion.
