Roaming in the region cheaper as of end of June 2015
Roaming service prices in the region will be cheaper by the end of June next year, it was decided at the meeting of regulators in Belgrade, Podgorica’s media reported.
On Wednesday, regulators agreed new fees will become effective as of
mid-summer, not as of the beginning of the year as it was previously reported
by Podgorica’s Dnevne novine.
The agreement implies that the citizens of the countries in the region will,
starting late June, pay half the current price for calls and SMS messages in
roaming while internet will be nine times lower than the current price.
Outgoing calls in roaming will cost EUR 0,29 instead of current EUR 0,62 cents, while incoming calls price will decrease from 33 to eight cents. SMS sending will cost nine cents instead of current 19 while internet service fee will fall by 89%, Podgorica’s daily reports.
The agreement obliges the countries of the region to keep the prices of roaming, phone calls, messages and data transfer in mobile telephony network abroad at the same level of prices of EU countries.
As of July 1, EU citizens pay half the price for roaming services than before
and that decision on allowed roaming fees is a step towards final cancellation
of that kind of a service, by the end of 2015 latest.
All the countries in the region and EU can sign the Agreement.
