Preparations for water factory reconstruction in Uzice underway - Tender for first phase of construction in April 2015

A request for proposal for the first phase of reconstruction of Uzice-based water factory at Cerovica hill is expected to be announced as early as this spring, the local daily newspaper Vesti Uzice reports.

A location permit is already issued for the reconstruction of this facility, and it was presented to Uzice Mayor Tihomir Petkovic by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Construction Minister Zorana Mihajlovic on January 20th.

- Modernization and reconstruction of the water factory is a precondition for normal life in Uzice - said Mihajlovic.

She voiced her expectation that a request for proposal for the first phase of works would be completed by June and all the works by the end of 2015. Also, as Mihajlovic pointed out, the Government will provide funds from several sources to help the reconstruction of this water factory, which some estimates say should cost EUR 2.8 million.

- Modernization and reconstruction will be done in phases and in agreement with the city. One part of the money will come from the Ministry's budget for local self-government and the other from the Water Directorate - said the minister.
