In the year of its tenth anniversary, the elevator maker Kleemann Liftovi Srbija plans to open new production facilities.
The company's existing production facility in Simanovci has a capacity of 60 elevators a month or about 700 complete elevators a year, while new production plants are expected to increase production by 100%.
The plan is to build a new business and production facility of over 5,000 square meters is across the road from the location where this company is currently situated. As Rajna Kleeman Liftovi Commercial Director Rajna Banjesevic explains to eKapija, this land was bought late last year, and the preparation of final design and preparation works are now underway.
- In 19 months, that is, since we started elevator production in Simanovci, our production facility has reached its maximum capacity. For that reason, the expansion of production area will the company's priority in 2015 - says Banjesevic.
During 2014, Kleeman registered a turnover of EUR 6.8 million with exports accounting foe more than 50%. According to our interlocutor, 26% of all the goods exported went to Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, 14% was exported to Greece and other EU countries via Greece (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, Great Britain, Poland, and others), while 17% of goods reached the Russian market.
- Our production capacity is currently big enough to satisfy the needs of the markets of Serbia and surrounding countries. We are doing our best to take advantage of free trade agreements that our country signed with Russia and other countries in the Eurasian Customs Union.
Banjesevic says that European sanctions definitely contributed to the parent company in Greece moving part of the production for Russia to Serbia. Now Kleemann Srbija delivers most of the production to its sister company Kleemann Lifts Russia.
In the previous two years, Kleemann has hired 45 workers in Serbia, mainly in the production sector (engineers, production workers, logistics...), while the construction of new facilities should create jobs for another 40 people.
New facilities in Simanovci, in which the company plans to invest EUR 1 million, will be producing equipment from the product portfolio of Kleemann Group - primarily electronically regulated electric lifts, CAN bus microprocessor systems for elevator control, and electric elevator modernization kits.
As eKapija was told, construction of new facilities is expected to be finished in May 2015.
