Merkur generates profit of EUR 209 m
During last
year, Slovenian technical goods wholesale, Merkur trgovina, generated profit of
EUR 209 m, where pure profit totaled EUR 600.000.
As Seebiz portal reports, the Supervisory Board estimated last year’s operations
were successful and confirmed new business plan which implies profit increase to
EUR 212 m this year.
Portal reminds that after old Merkur, which went bankrupt due to high debts of banks, new company was set up which rehabilitate business and operates well.
Trading activity of the company and a part of the property of old Merkur were transferred in November last year to newly set up Merkur trgovina which now operates 23 shopping malls with technical goods Slovenia-wide.
They agreed loan reprogram with banks and delay of part of claims payment for suppliers.
Claims of old Merkur in the meantime were transferred to so – called “bad bank” which manages non-payable claims of Slovenian banks.
The institution last week announced sale of EUR 670 m of the claims, including claim for old Merkur, Seebiz reports.
