Spend summer holiday as marshall - City of Split offers concession for Tito's villa for EUR 50.000 a month
Villa Dalmacija, within the Marjan national park, was considered to be the hot spot of communist elite which is why it has still been called Tito’s villa in Split.
With the regime change, vila started running and governmental officials have been using it less.
In that villa, in 1990, a famous photo of Alija Izetbegovic, Slobodan Milosevic and Franjo Tudjmana who held there the first meeting and discussed the future of Yugoslavia.
Villa was the ownership of the City of Split which used it in protocol purposes and sometimes for extraordinary weddings but it was only
generating losses. Now, city authorities are planning to offer Vila Dalmaciju
in concession to the one who pours least EUR 10 m in its rehabilitation. Vila
is aged although it looks well-maintained in the exterior. Last year, it celebrated
100th anniversary.
Villa and its eight hectares were estimated at EUR 120m.
The competition for concession has not been released yet but the first information indicate that the City from concessionaires, apart from initial investment, would require EUR 50.000 of monthly rent.
The investor would in turn have 30 or 40 years the right to carry out tourist activity in the Villa and to earn there and the facility would be, after the concession expires, be returned for management to the City of Split, Jutarnji list reports.
