Serbia joins EU mutual transit system in October 2015

All customs branch offices in Serbia were incorporated into new computerized transit system (NCTS), and the plan is that as of October, Serbia joins the system of mutual transit of the European Union, it has been said today at the Customs Directorate.

It was enabled through the project Modernization of the customs system in Serbia funded by EU with EUR 2,2 m as a part of the package of European support to the Government of Serbia for modernization of governmental administration and operational capacities of customs department.

As he explained, NCTS is paper-free customs process which will speed up procedures, reduce costs and speed up transit process, decrease halts and enable Serbian economy to become competitive at the global market.
