Early May to see 4G in Serbia - Telenor acquires two frequency blocks for new network implementation
Telenor bought two blocks in frequency range of 1.800 MHz at tender for issuing individual permits for radio frequency usage. This way, all legal preconditions are fulfilled so that Telenor could implement 4G in Serbia which is expected in early May.
The company is obliged to pay EUR 7 m for two blocks, while it already paid deposit of RSD 1,3 m to participate at tender organized by RATEL, official regulatory body in Serbia.
-The investment will enable us implementation of 4G network by early May 2015. Fast mobile internet enables our users an access to the latest services - Ove Fredheim, GM at Telenor Srbija, said.
4G implementation will be carried out in stages. It will first be introduced in urban and then in rural areas in line with the needs of consumers of Telenor network.
