Cold storage plant construction commenced in Prijepolje
Prijepolje-based company Sokolica has started the construction of a EUR 1 million cold storage plant in Brodarevo.
- Brodarevo has no factory, which is why locals began growing raspberries as the only source of revenue. This is the reason why we opted for this project valued at EUR 1 million - said Sokolica Acting Director Dzemko Jusovic.
According to him, the cold storage plant will have a capacity of 800 tonnes, which is enough to satisfy the needs for storing raspberries that are grown on over 100 hectares in Brodarevo.
All the work will be finished by the summer when the purchase of raspberries starts.
The new cold storage plant will also have a processing capacity, and the plan is to hire 30 workers for this purpose.
Sokolica is in the possession of Besim Brdar, a businessman from Germany, since 2008.
