British newspaper The Guardian puts Belgrade among top ten city breaks
British newspaper The Guardian has put Serbia's capital Belgrade on the list of top ten city breaks in Europe.
- For great-value city breaks, look past the capitals and big names; some of Europe's liveliest cultural scenes are in its smaller cities - The Guardian writes and adds that Belgrade's cultural scene has snowballed in the past five years, which in combination with the gritty urbanism of the city sees it frequently compared with Berlin, although Belgrade is intriguing in its own unique way.
The famous British newspaper also mentions Belgrade's neighborhood Savamala, which is currently the focal point for the city's creatives.
- Here you'll find KC Grad and Mikser House, two arts and performance spaces as well as lots of bars and restaurants - The Guardian writes and stresses that the city's clubbing scene is vibrant and features a large number of nightclubs and legendary floating clubs.
According to this newspaper, the best time to visit Belgrade is spring or autumn, given that summer in Belgrade is super hot.
The list of top ten city breaks in Europe also includes Ghent (Belgium), Lyon (France), Leipzig (Germany), Segovia (Spain), Porto (Portugal), Linz (Austria), Rotterdam (Holland), Turin (Italy), Gothenborg (Sweden).
