Tender for procurement of smart counters will be extended until April 1
Tender of the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) for procurement
of systems and counters with distant reading, which should end today, was
extended until April 1, it was published at the website of the procurement financier,
the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
It is the second tender extension released December 15 last year and which is conducted in line with EBRD rules.
EBRD and the European Investment Bank (EIB) approved to EPS loans totaling EUR 40 m respectively for implementation of the project for procurement of informatics and measuring infrastructure.
Apart from smart counters, procurement includes delivery of hardware and software, communications devices, applications and services for system integration and training.
According to previous information from EPS, procurement of 250.000 counters for households and 7.000 measuring systems for big consumers is planned.
The head of EPS, Aleksandar Obradovic, said last week that local producers are not disqualifies with tender provisions and added that out of 38 companies which purchased tender documentation, 20 are local firms.
There are approximately 3,5 million in Serbia.
