Construction of water factory "Makiš 2", worth 40m EUR, commences in June

After many delays, construction of water factory "Makiš 2" will commence in June 2007. Bojan Stanojević, the city manager, says that the company that will carry out preparation works has finally been selected.

Postponements of construction, according to the words of Bojan Stanojević, were the result of, among the rest, unsettled ownership-legal relations. For the construction of this water processing unit, the city authorities obtained credit in 2001 from European Bank for Rehabilitation and Development in amount of 20m EUR.

Once put into operation, factory "Makiš 2" should solve the problem of water supply to citizens of Grocka, Kaluđerica, Vinča, Sopot, the villages beneath Avala and Mladenovac.

Construction of "Makiš 2" will cost about 40m EUR.
