Gynecology department in Vrsac renovated - More than EUR 500.000 invested

Renovated Department for gynecology and midwifery in General hospital in Vrsac which was waiting for the reconstruction for more than half a century will open on Thursday, April 2, 2015.

The works in this department total more than EUR 500.000 and were implemented within the project of "Developing regional cross-border system of diagnostic centers for prenatal diagnostic and fetal malformations in Timisoara – Vrsac region".

The project was implemented through IPA program of cross border cooperation between Romania-Serbia and the Provincial Secretariat for finance provided deposit, grant totaling EUR 75.000 EUR.

From the moment of construction and moving in to the building which was in 1964, nothing serious has been done in this department.

Within the project, apart from building reconstruction, sub-specialization in peri-natology where one specialist in gynecology has already been attending, was also approved. Patients will now be enabled to do control of their pregnancy in the sense of screening, invasive and non-invasive methods in this institution. So far, it has been possible only in private clinics or in Belgrade.
