Serbian Trade and Tourism Minister Rasim Ljajic said yesterday that, "in the optimal and ideal scenario," we can expect Lidl representatives to give the green light until the year's end for the start of construction of 15 facilities in Serbia.

He added that 12 locations were already picked and that another three awaited the promulgation of the Conversion Law.

When asked about the IKEA department store in Serbia, he replied that the MoU read that it should be opened in Belgrade in November 2016.

He reminded that the Ministry of Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure announced the day before that they were doing all they can to enable that company to get the permit so the construction could start as soon as possible, adding that he had already scheduled a meeting with the director of that company.
