New railway bridge across the Velika Morava will be completed by May 1

Consortium of local companies comprising "Gosa Fom" from Smederevska Palanka and "Mostogradnja" from Belgrade, will complete by the end of the month all the works and Zeleznice Srbije will, as an investor, after that, deliver new bridge to Italian "JV Italiana construzioni-CAF", which, in line with the contract, has a deadline of three months to install new two-gauge railroad across the bridge, Stojcic said.

Trains will, along the new section and across the new bridge, be able to develop speed of 120 km per hour , the head of Serbian railways announced.

New steel bridge is two-gauge one, 322,5 m long and 2.400 tons heavy and it is being constructed within the project of construction of new two-gauge electrified railroad Gilje-Cuprija-Paraćin, 10,2 km long.

Contractor on railroad is Italian "JV Italiana Construzioni - CAF", while reconstruction and modernization of electrical and technical facilities was entrusted "Siemens".
