Story of inter-modal terminal comes to life - A total of EUR 15,5 will be poured in logistic complex in Batajnica
Although construction of intermodal terminal in Belgrade settlement Batajnicawas pompously announced in 2012, in 2015 we are still at the beginning. Urban documentation was done and the Detailed regulation plan for Intermodal terminaland logistic center Batajnica has been at public inspection until May 18.
The complex of intermodal terminal and logistic center will occupy 82,5 haat spacious area between railway station Batajnica and E75 highway.
Intermodal terminal "Batajnica" will comprise a few parts, themost important one is manipulative area whichcomprises: two loading tracks for containers and one additional manipulative trackfor locomotion; traffic lanes fortrucks, container warehouse (three lines for temporary container storing). Apartfrom that, Intermodal terminal "Batajnica" will also have awarehouse, maintenance facility, administrative and control and customsbuilding.
As the Ministry of traffic said for "eKapija", estimatedinvestment for the construction of intermodal terminal totals EUR 15,5 m and ittakes some EUR 4,4 m for land expropriation. The investment does not compriseinvestments in development of logistic zone which will be developed near theintermodal terminal.
The Ministry expects that the construction is funded through EU - IPA 2015 in85% and minimum 15% of co-funding from the budget of the Republic of Serbia.
If the construction of intermodal terminal is funded through EU - IPA 2015, whichwould be operational in 2016, then tender and selection of the best contractorwould follow which would firstly develop the main design for construction. Inthat case, the start of works could be expected in the second half of 2016. Itwas planned that the construction lasts 18 months.
New company for new complex
- End user and manager of intermodal terminal will be a new legal entity setup by the Government of Serbia – the Ministry of construction, traffic and infrastructure, together with the City of Belgrade. This legal entity would be set up beforethe start of the intermodal terminal construction and unril that moment allinvestment affairs on the project will be done by the Directorate forconstruction land and construction of Belgrade so that costs would be downsizedin this project stage– the Ministry says.
New legal entity will manage the intermodal terminal and land renting withinlogistic zone to other legal entities would be done by the City of Belgrade inline with needs and options.
Although it was previously announced the center will occupy 180ha, the Draftimplies 82ha.
- Near intermodal terminal, development of logistic zone on 82,5 ha was planned (intermodal terminal occupies13 ha), which the City of Belgrade would rent for warehouse and distributioncapacities to future users of intermodal terminal. Area of 82,5 ha is defined with borders of the Detailedregulation plan draft and it is thought that in this stage that area willsatisfy the needs of future users– the Ministry says.
