Sigve Brekke appointed new GM at Telenor Group

Managing Board at "Telenor Group" appointed Sigve Brekke a new president and GM "Telenor Group", which is taking duty from Jon Frederick Baksaas August 17 this year. Sigve Brekke is executive VP and the head for Asian operations within Telenor Group. He joined Telenor in 1999 and since then he was performing a few executive positions in the company.

- Sigve Brekke has rich resume as the head of Telenor’s Asian operations and a part of Group management since August 2008. His leading role in our Asian story in combination with extensive, international experience and leadership skills will be of great importance - Svein Aaser, presiding of the Management Board at "Telenor Group" says.

Sigve Brekke had very important role in positioning "Telenor Group" as a leading international mobile operator. Under his guidance, Telenor got more than 100 million users in Asia. Achieved results in Asia are important and this region now is more than 40% of total value of Telenor Group. Telenor is in the position to continue with good results by providing internet for all.
