Businessman distributes shares to his employees totaling EUR 9 m

The founder of Italian company for glasses production, "Luxottica" , Leonardo Del Vecchio decided to make his 8000 employees happy for his 80th birthday giving them shares totaling nine million euros.


As AFP, reports, Del Vecchio, the second richest Italian, shared 140.000 shares of Luxottica to his employees.

-Big thank to all company employees in Italy who contributed to success of "Luxottica" most – he said in his announcement.

-With this minor activity, I want to show how important employees are to me. I honestly believe that we are one family – he outlined.

"Luxottica", which owns brands such as "Ray Ban" and"Oukli", last year generated record profit and it started 2015 in great style, with increase in profit in Q1 for nearly 34%, thanks first of all to sudden sale increase in North America.
