Four-star hotel "Car" for foreign and domestic guests - 700,000 EUR invested in reconstruction

In private hotel "Car", in Đure Daničića Street in Smederevo, works on construction of annex and broadening of facility, in which 700,000 EUR will be invested, are in progress. This hotel, which was built three years ago, some 8 km away from European Corridor 10, has 17 rooms and suites, with bathroom, phone, satellite TV program and air conditioning system, as well as national cuisine restaurant with 120 seats.

Following completion of construction, the facility will have 1,600 square meters, parking space for 30 vehicles, another 13 rooms, wine cellar, swimming pool of 100 square meters, four saunas, solarium and fitness club.

- Works will be completed with certain delay, so that the official opening of the hotel is schedulled for mid-August - said the co-owner of the hotel, Zvezdan Vrbanović.

He said that, following completion of construction of enhancement of accomodation services, as well as construction of parking space, hotel "Car" would be categorized again and it would have four, instead of three stars.

Due to increased demand for lodging of employees in Smederevo-based companies "U.S. Steel" and "Tehnogas-Messer", with which the contract is signed prior to end of year 2007, broadening of the hotel was necessary. Thanks to that contract, most guests are from America, Germany, France, Ireland and Slovakia.
