Contracts for unique distribution and production system in EPS signed
Today, the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) has signed today contracts status changes which givern that as of July 1, companies for production of electricity and coal will be absorbed at the PC EPS and one operator of distribution system will be set up.
The old organization of EPS will become history and strong, more organized and vertically integrated EPS is taking over. Instead of current organizing 14 legal entities, the system will function with three and implementation of unique management and unified business processes, procedure of business management at EPS will more efficient and profitable– the head of EPS, Aleksandar Obradovic said.
As EPS communicated, Obradovic signed contract on status change with heads of current companies for production of electricity and coal and contact on setting up one operator of distribution system where companies for electricity distribution, "Elektrodistribucija Beograd", "Elektrovojvodina", Elektrosrbija, Jugoistok and Centar, as of July 1, will operate under the new name-EPS Distribucija.
Approval to the decision was adopted by the Government of Serbia May 29 while Supervisory Board at PC EPS adopted them May 25. With these status changes, EPS will operate with three entities with clearly defined activities of production, distribution and supplying and these are: PC EPS, "EPS Distribucija" and "EPS Snabdevanje".
The second reorganization change should end by the summer 2016 and implies transfer of EPS from public into Shareholder Company.
