Electricity excises 7,5% as of August 1

The Board of the Assembly of Serbia for funding accepted the Proposal of the changes to the Law on excises basically which implies introduction of electricity excise of 7,5% as of August 1.

Assistant minister of finance, Natasa Kovacevic, in her explanation of proposal, said excise is implemented for alignment with EU as well. She added the excise will provide increase of budget income for 17 billion dinars a year.


In their explanation for changes, the Government of Serbia stated it is estimated that this year, through electricity excise payment collection, budget will increase for 5,4 billion dinars.



Assistant minister of finance of Serbia said that with the Proposal of changes to the Law on excises they planned to introduce also excise for liquid for electronic cigarettes totaling four dinars per milliliter and excise for so-called smoke-free tobacco.
