Airport in Nis ready for flights to Malmoe and Basel - Wizz Air to start operating on June 25th

After more than a year and a half, Nis is going to reestablish air connection with Malmoe on Thursday, June 25, and with Basel four days later, thanks to the Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air.

People at the public company Aerodrom Nis say that the Nis Airport is ready to handle passengers, approximately 150 of them per flight, Beta news agency reports.

- So much was done to make passengers feel more comfortable. A new computer and software system is introduced for selling tickets, and there is also a new video surveillance system - says Vladica Djurdjanovic, the director of the Aerodrom Nis public company.

Djurdjanovic points out that the departure gate has been expanded to reduce the time of holding up Wizz Air aircraft to only 30 minutes.

He also reminds that Wizz Air will operate three flights a week to Malmoe - on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and two flights a week to Basel, Switzerland - on Monday and Friday.

Djurdjanovic stresses that Wizz Air is interested in using Konstantin Veliki Airport as the base for one of its airplanes, but he explains it will probably be possible in 2016.

According to him, with one plane stationed in Nis, three to four flights a day would be guaranteed.
