Scientists from the University of Pittsburgh and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health are working with Microsoft researchers on a new mosquito-catching drone.
The aim of this project to fight epidemics, it was announced today at the web portal pourquoidocteur.fr.
Project Premonition drones, which detect mosquitoes, could be really effective in fighting epidemics, primarily in hard-to-reach areas.
By catching mosquitoes, these drones could help scientists understand the way in which diseases transform into epidemics as well as classify diseases that could spread locally and prevent that.
Researchers explained that the drone against mosquitoes was consuming less energy and using lighter batteries than other models.
