An interstate agreement on cheaper roaming, the signatories to which are four regional countries - Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia and Montenegro, takes effect today because the ruling of the Administrative Court does not postpone the start of its application.

- Rates have already been reduced several times with decreases ranging from 350% for telephony and messages services to 800% for data transfer - the web portal CDM cited Zoran Sekulic, the director of the Montenegrin Agency for Electronic Communications, as saying.

Montenegrin operators Telekom and Telenor appealed to the Administrative Court as they thought that the agreement to lower the roaming rates was binding for the EU countries only.

The Administrative Court accepted their appeal, but the Agency for Electronic Communications passed a new regulation that is in line with the agreement, so that the ruling of that court, as Sekulic explained to Radio Antena M, does not postpone its application.
