Paris gest another pyramid 180 meters tall

French capital could get a pyramid-shaped skyscraper 180 meters tall by 2020, given that the City Assembly of Paris has finally approved of a controversial project to build the skyscraper Tour Triangle, which was advocated by the socialist mayor, Anne Hidalgo.

The Paris City Assembly rejected this project 18 November 2014, while the City Council of Paris approved it Tuesday (30 June 2015) after it was amended and supplemented, but mainly thanks to a change of opinion of several right-wing MPs and liberal parties.

This skyscraper will become the first building of this kind in the very core of the French capital in the last 40 years.

The project by the Swiss architectural studio Herzog&de Meuron, Tour Triangle, should be built in the south of Paris by 2020. It is expected to house offices and a hotel.
