Further work on modernization of Belgrade-Budapest agreed
VP of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the minister of construction, traffic and infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlovic, discussed on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, after mutual meeting of the governments of Serbia and Hungary in Budapest, with the minister for national development of Hungary, Miklos Sestak, on modernization of the Belgrade-Budapest railroad and the first water way at the border crossing at the Tisa.
- During bilateral meeting with Hungarian minister Sestak we agreed on further mutual work on modernization of the
Belgrade-Budapest railroad. With the amendment to the Agreement on sailing the
Tisa, which both parties supported, it was enabled that the Tisa river gets
international status which means it was announced to be the part of the trans-European
corridor of the Rajna-Danube- Mihajlovic said after the meeting.
Inter-governmental groups were set up which will work on the opening of the
first sailing border crossing at the Tisa August 1 this year, VP of the government
added, the Ministry of construction, traffic and infrastructure announced.
