Warren Buffett bought a Greek island

American business magnate and one of the most successful investors in the world has bought the Greek island Agios Tomas (Saint Thomas) for 15 million EUR, as announced on the website of the Greek newspaper ‘Proto Tema’.

Greek newspaper says that Buffet has bought the island together with Italian real estate magnate, millionaire Alessandro Proto.

Two of them, according to the newspaper, signed the contract on purchase of island on last Thursday.

The businessmen have released a joint statement in which they announce investments on the island, situated on the northeast side of the island of Egina in the Saronic Gulf.

It is said in their statement that they plan ‘construction in order to help development of the wider region .

The island 300 acres in size has already been advertized for sale on the Internet.

If this information is confirmed, it will be another case of purchase of a Greek island by a celebrity.

At the beginning of this week, Hollywood actor Johnny Depp bought an uninhabited island of Stroggilo in Aegean sea for 4.2 million EUR.

Dozens of islands are for sale in Greece at the moment.
