Adaptation of Kaštel castle in Ečka - "Univerzal - holding" plans construction of sports fields, livery stable, congress center ...

Castle built in 1820 in Ečka, near Zrenjanin, is going to get new looks and the works on adaptation of the facility are already in progress. Commenced two years ago, the works are currently intensified because all necessary permits have been obtained from the Institute for Preservation of Cultural Monuments.

Belgrade-based company "Univerzal- holding", as the majority owner of Kaštel castle in Ečka, has ambitious plans for restauration of this facility. Construction of tennis courts in big park, swimming pools and much more related contents is in the pipeline.

- We are currently waiting for permits for elaboration of projects for sports contents, because our intention is to have basketball and football field built, as well as livery stable and shelter for dogs. Inevitable things are swimming pool and lake. Our plan is to equip doctor's office, congress center with several halls and to have Children's Village built. The idea of the owner is to enable unforgetable vacation to the guests by combining modern offer with the old facility - Đorđe Mitrović, Purchase Manager in Kaštel Ečka, points out.

Kaštel castle in Ečka was built in 1820 by count Lazar Agošton. So far, under the supervision of experts from the Institute for Preservation of Cultural Monuments Zrenjanin, the existing hotel part of the facility has been reconstructed and three suites and 14 rooms have been adapted. New depandance with four suites and 28 rooms is being built. Also, reconstruction of kitchen with restaurant has been started. Opening of the restaurant and kitchen is schedulled for September. On that occasion, about 20 catering workers will get jobs.
