Serial production of armored vehicle Lazar 2 starts March 2016
Serial production of one of the most modern military armored vehicles, Lazar 2, equipped with a 12.7mm machine gun, will kick off March 2016, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic announced Saturday.
While touring the artillery arms factory in Velika Plana, he said it might be an excellent export business, but since Serbia lacked machines for producing 12.7mm ammunition, Vucic noted that cooperation with Bosnia-Herzegovina was possible because that country was producing the ammunition in question in Konjic.
- Instead of struggling to buy ammunition from them and then resell it, we can go abroad and say Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina offer you a vehicle with a 12.7mm machine gun, and then we can sell the whole package - he stressed and added that the demand was so huge that Serbia cannot satisfy it.
He underlined it was one of the best vehicles of the kind in the world.
