Scotland Yard becomes luxury hotel, GBP 10,000 for overnight stay

Former headquarters of the London Police, Scotland Yard, in Whitehall Place Street, will be turned into a luxury five-star hotel, and this whole project will cost EUR 154 million.

Great Scotland Yard Hotel is expected to receive first guests in 2017, and an overnight stay in former Metropolitan Police Station, where famous Sherlock Holmes used to drop in, as described in Arthur Conan Doyle's novels, will be priced up to GBP 10,000, the French daily Figaro reports.

This hotel, with a surface area of 56,000 square meters, will have seven floors and 235 rooms, several restaurants, two bars, library, meeting hall, and guests will have at their disposal the hotel service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The hotel staff will consist of 250 persons. Scotland Yard renovation alone will cost about GBP 50 million.

By the way, the new owner of Scotland Yard is Indian fifty-year-old businessman Jusufali Kader, one of the wealthies Indians, who's also the owner of LuLu Group with the headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

- Great Scotland Yard Hotel will be a synonym for refined taste and excellent service - said Kader.

- London will get one of the most attractive hotels in the world, primarily for tourists. We are aware that this project represents a great development opportunity for the city - the Indian businessman told Reuters.
