Tirana to host Ministerial council of Energy Community October 15

This year’s Ministerial Council of SEE Energy Community will be held October 15 in Tirana since Albania this year is chairing, the head of Secretariat of the community, Janez Kopac said on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in Belgrade.

Kopac said to journalists at the Assembly of Serbia that atthe meeting they will discuss “new parts of legal order” and reform of the EnergyCommunity and announced that one of the proposals of the reform is set up of parliamentaryplenum for cooperation of parliament members of energy community countries.

The Energy Community, Kopac said, now covers entirely operatorsof energy systems, energy regulators and governments and this reform would alsocomprise parliaments of SEE countries.

He added that the Ministerial council of the Energy Communitywill discuss in Tirana international directives, directive on energy efficiencybeing one of them.

Contract on set up of the Energy Community of SEE counties wassigned October 25, 2005 in Athens by representatives of Serbia and Montenegro,Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Albania and temporaryUN Mission for Kosovo.
