Production in Fiat halted until October 5th

Production of vehicles at the factory FCA Srbija was discontinued Monday (22 September 2015), and this two-week halt is expected because of a decreased demand for cars in the North American market, Zoran Markovic, the president of the Independent Trade Union of FCA Srbija, told the local broadcasting company RTK.

Production plan for 2015 is at the same level as last year and is already almost met.

The trade union is asking the Government to establish a more active relationship with the largest exporter in Serbia, especially for getting a new model, because the factory is currently working at a third of its total capacity, while the company employs about 5,000 people, Radio and TV Kragujevac reports.
