Company "Palimal" gave the besst offer for Yugoslav River Shipping - Company from Malta offer nearly 60m EUR?
Company "Palimal“from Malta gave the best offer for Yugoslav River Shipping, and the price they offered for purchase of 69.70% of assets of the river transportation company is 30% higher than the second best bid. Accurate sum is not known, but having in mind that the bookkeeping value of the company is 40m EUR, it may be that Malta-based company offered nearly 60m EUR.
Tender commission has not officially ranked the bids yet, although the first meeting has already been held.
Bidders on the tender closed on August 27 were company "Palimal", Zoran Drakulić's "East Point", Romanian company TTS, very strong in field of river transport, foreign-trade company "Tamoza" and Šabac-based company "Intereksport", of which owner is Slaviša Purić. According to unofficial information, Drakulić gave a good price, but due to strong competition, the price was not high enough for his company to be the first-ranked bidder. Everybody finds surprising that "Interexport", which is considered to be an outsider, competed with strong players. Purić is, by the way, co-owner of port "Dunav" from Pančevo.
Yugoslav River Shipping owns 16 ships, 120 barges and cargo barges for dry and liquid cargo, administrative building in Belgrade's centre on 6,500 square meters, business building in Vienna, which isn't, however, on the web site of the Privatization Agency, as well as two ship repair workshops with halls and equipment for repairs.
