Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic today opened a factory of the Italian company Vibac in Jagodina to produce adhesive tapes of the latest technology in an industrial packaging, which will hire 400 workers.
The prime minister expressed gratitude to Italian friends for making it possible to open the Vibac factory in Jagodina and provide jobs for more than 300 people in that way. As he noted, the Serbian government invested EUR 8 milllion, the investor contributed EUR 60 million, and the new factory will employ 340 people.
Given that the Government too gave money for this factory, Vucic said that it was not a problem to find funds, assessing we had enough money, but not enough to waste.
The factory, with a surface area of 70,000 square meters, was build in the Industrial Zone in Jagodina, on Corridor X, around 500 meters away from an international highway and Belgrade-Nis railroad. For a start, the factory will employ 100 workers, whereas the remaining 300 will get a job within the next year and a half.
Vibac's factory in Jagodina is expected to export EUR 150 million worth of goods, mainly to the countries of eastern Europe, former Soviet Union and the Pacific region.
The red ribbon was cut by Aleksandar Vucic, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of External Affairs Ivica Dacic, Jagodina Chairperson Dragan Markovic, Italian Ambassador to Serbia Giuseppe Manzo, and Vibac Balcani General Manager Patricio Masini.
Construction of the Vibac factory in Jagodina commenced 18 December 2013, and the foundation stone was laid by then Prime Minister Dacic, Ambassador Masini and Markovic.
Vibac is the fourth Italian company to open a factory in Jagodina. Before Vibac, production facilities were also opened by Confezioni Andrea, Aunde, and Mobil Turi, which employ more than 1,000 workers combined.
