Waste management system set up is one of the most important and economically most demanding segments in alignment process of our regulations with EU regulations. It was estimated that the process costs will total more than EUR 2,5 billion which is 26% of total estimated costs for implementation of all regulations in environmental protection field.

The major part of funding burden will be on the back of Serbian economy so the question of how waste management system set up in our country can be facilitated emerges.

Experts who participated at the round table called "Circular economy in the region", held on Friday, October 16, 2015 within the ECOFAIR 2015, organized by the Association of waste industry of Serbia "Hrabri cistact", German organization for international cooperation (GIZ) and the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, tried to answer the question.

This time, circular economy was presented as a new concept of waste management which emerged after the economic crisis in 2008 and it refers to maximal usage of used resources. It should be outlined that the circular economy concept is inevitable since it is involved in European regulations which all countries which are candidates for EU membership must align and implement, the organizers announced.
