Mining Smelter Basin "Bor" produced 260 kg of gold in eight months

In the first eight months of this year, 260 kg of gold was produced in Bor-based Smelter and copper refinery, which is 40 kg less than in 2006 . According to the announcement of Mining-Smelter Basin (RTB) "Bor", in the first eight months of year 2007, 1,500 kg of silver was produced, which is about half a ton more than in 2006.

From January to August 2007, 10,435 tons of concentrated copper were produced in Bor’s and Majdanpek’s mines. In the same period, about 22,000 tons of cathode copper were produced. Of that quantity, 13,000 tons came from their own mines and 9,000 tons were produced from imported raw material.

People from RTB point out that they had problems with copper production this year, first of all, because of the old technology. This company expects that new hydraulic dredge will be delivered in the next few days, which will enable continuity of production on strip mine Veliki Krivelj.

The dredge for the needs of Bor-based mines was last time procured 25 years ago. According to the announcement, the up-to-date machine will replace classical dredge and enable increase in processing of ore from current 400,000 to 660,000 tons.
