Greeks to give 100m EUR for "Corridor 10" - works to start in spring
Minister of Economy and Regional Development, Mlađan Dinkić, and
Minister of Finance and Economy of Greece, Jorgos Alogoskufis, agreed in Athens
yesterday (September 21, 2007) that 100m EUR from "Hellenic" plan for Corridor 10 be included in the budget for 2008.
According to the announcement of Serbian Ministry of Economy, Dinkić pointed out at the meeting in Athens that it was agreed that Greek participates with 100m EUR in construction of highway on Corridor 10. Protocol
about realization of these funds, as he said, will be signed on the occasion of the
return visit of Minister Alogoskufis to Belgrade.
- Government of Serbia will also set aside large funds from its own budget for year 2008, so that the works could start in spring - Dinkić added and estimated that the completion of the highway on Corridor 10 had exceptional both strategic and economic importance for the economy of Serbia and Greece, pointing out that, in that way, economies of western and central Europe would be connected with port of Salonica and quicken the flow of people and goods.
The two ministers stated that previous economic cooperation between the two countries had been very good, and they expressed wish for its further progress.
