Atalian from France takes over Belgrade-based Mopex
European leader in the field of facility management, the French company Atalian, signed Thursday night (12 November 2015) an agreement to take over a majority stake in Belgrade-based Mopex.
According to the agreement, Atalian has acquired a 51% stake in Mopex and is going to increase that stake to 80% by 2020, which practically means it will immediately recapitalize the company with EUR 450,000.
Mopex Director Dusan Radakovic said he believed he had made a good deal by choosing one of the biggest European facility management companies.
Mopex is a leading private company in Serbia in the industry, Radakovic pointed out and revelead that Atalian was going to sign yet another agreement on the acquisition of company from Serbia on Friday.
The wish of Mopex and its employees is to make progress, especially in technical maintenance, said Radakovic.
Atalian was present in eight countries four years ago, while today it operates in 19 countries employing over 65,000 people, said Atalian CEO Matthieu de Baynast de Septfontaines.
Atalian plans to double or even triple the number of employees in Serbia, he said and stressed that, "now is the right time to invest in Serbia".
Atalian is a leading European provider of industrial maintenance services with 20,000 clients and 65,000 employees. In 2014, the company registered an annual turnover of EUR 1.4 billion.
Mopex Belgrade was established in 1997 as a family firm providing the services of professional hygiene maintenance, ongoing maintenance of business facilities, importation and distribution of machines, chemical products and disposable hygiene materials. Today it employs more than 800 people.
