Electricity market in Serbia gets license for work - Lower prices for citizens in early 2016

As of today, electricity market in Serbia has received as of today a license for work and it will trade in all electricity surpluses, both for firms and citizens.

With trading in electricity in the region, Serbia will earn EUR 400 m and cheaper electricity is expected in early 2016.

At the electricity market called SEEPEX as of the beginning, Montenegro and Macedonia will trade in also and later Hungary, Poland, Romania and other states of the region will join.

Electricity will be traded in like shares at the market .

Energy deliverers are not only producers but traders which are registered in line with valid laws and there are 35 of them in Serbia.

As of 2017, citizens will be able to choose who will supply them with energy and at least 5% lower electricity prices are expected.
