Diamond of incredible 1.111 carats found in Botswana - Invaluable stone

Canadian company found diamond of 1.111 carats in Botswana. This is the second biggest diamond which was found and it is as big as a tennis ball.

The gem which Lucara Diamond company found belongs to the IIa category where only one to two percent natural diamonds are. These diamonds do not contain impurities and they are colorless.

In July, the company sold much smaller diamond of 341,9 carats, IIa type, for USD 20,6 m which is 60.000 dollars per carat..

The biggest gem ever found is Cullinan which has 3.106 carats and was found at the mine of Thomas Cullinan in South Africa in 1905. This one was showed to King Edward VII and after that it was cut out in 9 larger and 96 smaller ones. One of them has 317,4 carats and is placed at the crown of the British Imperia.


It is estimated Cullinan collection totals USD 2 billion but it has never gone to an auction.
