- Construction of the factory that should employ 500 people, one of the largest investments in Cuprija in the past few years and the engine of growth of this municipality, will commence in 2016 instead of this year - Eric said Friday (27 November 2015), at a meeting with Portuguese Ambassador Augusto Saraiva Peixoto.
This investment is valued at EUR 11 million, and the factory should be built in an industrial zone on 15 hectares, which cost about RSD 95 million to build, 60% of which were provided by the state, Eric explained.
Eric reminded that Truck lite Europe Gmbh was one of the world's leading manufacturers of lighting equipment for the automotive industry. Its most eminent buyers are Volkswagen, Daimler, Skoda, BMW. This company is also a member of the German Chamber of Commerce and the German-Serbian Business Association.
A Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of this factory of Truck lite Europe Gmbh was signed in Cuprija in early March 2013 between Aleksandar Vucic, who was then the First Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and is now the Prime Minister, Sven Milhausen, the director of the German company in Serbia, and Cuprija Mayor Ninoslav Eric. Truck lite Europe Gmbh has eight factories around the world, 3,500 workers and an annual turnover of about half a billion euros.
