US Steel Srbija, posle 18 godina pauze,ponovo pušta u rad Visoku peć broj jedan, 33.1 mil USD

With the motto "The Dream is Coming True", the management of company US Steel Srbija has put blast furnace no.1 into operation. That furnace haven’t been in operation for 18 years. Putting into operation of this blast furnace, which was overhauled in the scope of capital project worth 33.1 million USD, will make it possible for Smederevo-based Forge to reach full production capacity of 2.2 million tons on annual basis. Before US Steel bought forge in 2003, its maximal production had amounted to 847,000 tons (achieved in 1997).
