Trading exchange between Serbia and Turkey reaches billion euros
Trading exchange between Serbia and Turkey reached the figure of app. billion euros, president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC), Marko Cadez said on Monday, December 28, 2015 at the opening of Business forum of the two countries.
- Investors from Turkey have started in 2015 to turn to Serbia slowly. Foreign exchange increased by 20%, and Serbia exports to Turkey a third more than in previous years – Cadez said at the meeting in Belgrade’s Hyatt hotel.
He said that the meeting will host representatives of some 300 Turkish and
Serbian companies which according to him shows there is room for further
development of cooperation between two countries.
Co-president of the Turkish – Serbian business council, Aleksandar Medjedovic, said that this year,
Serbia has exported to Turkey goods totaling EUR 600 m and that 35% of it went to Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iraq,
Iran. He invited Turkish businessmen to invest in Serbia since their citizens
need jobs and added that Serbia, as the central country of the West Balkans
offers market of 30 million people “which extends from Belgrade to Tirana”.
- Serbia is one of safe countries in the Balkans and is open for Turkish businessmen
– Medjedovic said.
