VUJOVIC: Electricity price goes up in May, private sector as driver of development in 2016

(Dusan Vujovic) Serbian Finance Minister Dusan Vujovic assessed on 1 January 2016 that the price of electricity would probably go up in May if the circumstances were fitting.
- I assume that electricity price will be increased, but we should let competent bodies make that decision. If something changes and the price of electricity drops in other countries, if the prices of raw materials and equipment go down, there may be some deviation from the plan - Vujovic told B92.
The minister also said that the main driver of growth in 2016 would be the private sector, adding that consumption growth was going to be positive for the first time after a year of reforms. He noted that austerity measures in the public sector would remain in effect by the end of 2017.
